How to protect yourself from coronavirus?
Despite the quarantine, clients do not plan to be left without beautiful eyebrows, eyelashes, and makeup.
The issue of disinfection within beauty salons and beauty studios must always be treated with special attention and responsibility. This is the safety of our customers, guests, and, first of all, our personal safety.
Ask your customers to be responsible for their own and your health and in case of illness, be sure to cancel the appointment and consult a doctor. This can be done personally by you or the administrator of the salon (studio).
What can protect against viruses?
Let's go through the basic precautions for the master and his workplace:
- Disinfection of hands and surfaces
- Tools sterilization
- Protective measures in contact with the client
- Room disinfection
How do disinfect hands and surfaces?
Viruses and infections can be not only in the air but also settle on various surfaces and then can be easily transferred by hand to the mucous membrane and further into our body. According to experts, the virus can stay on the surface for up to 9 days! So the first thing we should take care of is frequent washing and disinfection of hands and work surfaces. Not to mention before working with a client, you always need to disinfect your hands, and special disinfectants must be available to guests in the salon and be publicly available.
Disinfectants are available for different purposes:
- for disinfection of surfaces and tools;
- for hand disinfection;
- universal.
Products that contain propanol (at least 35%) or ethanol (85%) are quite suitable: AHD 2000, Sterillium, BioLong (Biolong).

Sterillium is ideal for hand treatment, does not dry, and does not have a strong odor.
BioLong produces both skin antiseptics and universal products that are used to treat hands, surfaces, and tools. It should be noted that allergy sufferers need to be careful when choosing this product, as it has a sharp aroma and fumes.
In addition to cleaning hands, it is important to wipe the work surfaces with an antiseptic after working with each client and treat the tool.
Sterilization of instruments in a beauty salon or beauty studio
A dry-heater or an autoclave is our reliable assistant and protector at work. A useful device for a beauty studio will also be an ultrasonic tool cleaner. Dry heat processing must be carried out on all instruments. They must first be cleaned and soaked in Blanidaz Active disinfectant solution (here you can use an ultrasonic cleaner), dried and packed in a special craft bag, and then sent to the “stove”.
By the way, the brushes do not count, these tools simply will not survive such an execution. To work with brushes, there are special cleaners (example: Express Brush Cleancer), which also have antiseptic properties. And don't forget to bathe your brushes regularly.
Virus protection during working with clients
SARS and viral diseases are transmitted by airborne droplets and by contact with the mucous membrane. We stock up on three-layer masks and gloves. A mask is a good way to protect yourself from viral diseases in close contact with a client. But it should be remembered that three-layer masks do not provide long-term protection and they need to be changed at least once every couple of hours, and gloves - after each client.
Three-layer masks are generally a very useful thing in terms of the psychology of working with a client. It acts as a kind of barrier that allows you to work calmly in the client's comfort zone.
Unfortunately, ordinary three-layer masks will be ineffective against the coronavirus itself. Masks with a class of at least N95 with a HEPA filter are distinguished by a greater degree of protection. In this case, there are risks of infection through open eyes and conjunctiva.
But how then to protect the mucous membrane of the eye? The National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine recommends instilling 2-3 drops of Decamethoxine solution (0.2 mg/ml) 4-6 times a day during the period of epidemiological danger.
Sterilization of a beauty salon or beauty studio
Having taken care of the surface treatment of your workplace, you can think about how to clean the room as a whole. Indoors, it is imperative to carry out wet cleaning every day and draw up a plan for general cleaning or sanitary days. The best thing - is the ultraviolet treatment of the room. Of course, the presence of quartz lamps can boast rather a beauty centers, they are rare in beauty salons and beauty studios. But now is the time to think about buying such a device for your studio. Quartzization is done after wet cleaning, within 5 - 15 minutes, while no one should be in the room at this time.
