The price of the service depends on the level of the artist, his popularity and demand, the quality of materials, appearance, and, of course, the room in which the artist accepts clients.
Increasing the price of services is a delicate matter. It is important to understand that you will lose some customers, and be prepared for this. I recommend raising prices when the density of your schedule list is over 70%. Do not forget that price increases must be justified. The reasons can be different: advanced training, winning competitions, improving the quality of materials, upgrading the studio, and so on. In this case, do not worry: pretty quickly the number of customers will be the same, and your earnings will grow.
Is it worth it to reduce the cost of cosmetics?
It is impossible to reduce the cost of cosmetics! New trends require the artist to constantly refill his work case. But you can always adhere to the golden rule and spend a strictly allotted amount per month, for example, 10% of the profit. In this case, you will always be trendy, and this rule will not allow you to live in poverty.
Many make-up artists, when calculating the cost of their services, take care only of the material costs of cosmetics. In fact, the truth lies much deeper. In addition to the cost of materials, you need to consider the cost of disposable products, rent, advertising, administrative costs, treats for customers, Internet, telephone, and also do not forget about your time! After all, today it is the most precious thing we have!
Which segment of cosmetics should a makeup artist choose?
It all depends on what level of customers you serve. Today it is no longer a secret that even in the mass market there are completely unique high-quality products, and in the luxury segment we can find material that is completely unsuitable for work.
On which cosmetics can not save money for a makeup artist?
It is important not to skimp on tonics, skin prep products, and foundation products. They must be of the highest quality! A high-quality foundation is the key to perfect make-up!
How to cut down on makeup time so you can get more done?
Competent organization of the workplace and a clear understanding of the task will help you create makeup much faster.
My personal advice: don't get hung up on one action. Anything can happen, a working artist will understand. Not going through the process with lips or eye makeup? Just switch to the next action - after 5-10 minutes an idea will come to you that will help you complete what you started earlier.
How can a makeup artist attract more clients?
Today, there are many tools to attract clients. A few of them:
- social networks (hold draws, make live broadcasts, create beautiful publications, interesting and informative posts);
- subscriptions (for example, every 5th, 10th, and 15th service as a gift);
- stock.
But I do not recommend discounts. In my opinion, they devalue your work.
How can a make-up artist improve their status in order to earn more?
The increase in your status is proportional to personal growth. One cannot exist without the other. It is important to choose your path and move in that direction. And also take part in championships, speak at large-scale events, exhibitions and conferences, publish in glossy publications, lead an active social life and share your knowledge. Of course, endlessly improve the level of your skills! With the interaction of all these factors, your status will grow exponentially!
